Karen Betts 

Karen Betts has personally developed the Nouveau Contour training programme and teaches our Elite-level students. She has pioneered permanent cosmetics in the UK and, today, she is probably the best-known permanent cosmetics artist in the country. Her client waiting list speaks for itself, as does her work for TV, charities and other organizations. 

Karen is also a leading light in setting our industry standards. She is a member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals and sits on the board of the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority.

Even with all these high-level demands on her time, Karen is still one of the most down-to-earth people you will ever meet. 

Bridgette Softley

Bridgette is an incredibly highly skilled artist. She has been in the permanent cosmetics business almost as long as Karen. Her appointments diary is full of celebrity clients and, like Karen, she has appeared on many TV shows including ITV’s This Morning.

A Nouveau Contour trainer for nearly a decade, Bridgette leads our Bronze Foundation, Silver Experienced and Gold Advanced training programmes.

She is a perfectionist with very high standards and a little like a pushy mum. In other words, she really cares about you and is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals!

When she’s not training our protégés or freshening up a famous face, Bridgette also works for various charities, giving confidence back to people who are coping with the effects of alopecia and cancer.

Sue Farley

When she is not indulging her passion for teaching with us, Sue is busy with her many clients, for whom she provides permanent cosmetics and medical tattoo services in various studios across the country. 

Sue gives everyone attending our Yorkshire training days a fantastic start in the world of permanent cosmetics. New trainees love Sue, partly due to her personality and sense of humour and partly because she has a wonderful gift for tuning into the students and how they learn best on an individual basis. You will see Sue throughout the Bronze foundation to Gold Advanced level.  

Cathy Brown

Having seen the high calibre of her artistry in permanent cosmetics, Cathy’s clients and peers urged her to move into medical tattooing. Today, her medical tattooing skills are extremely highly regarded and it is this highly specialised aspect of permanent cosmetics that she teaches in our academies.

Cathy is great at putting people at their ease, whether she is working on areola reconstruction for a client or leading a workshop. If you are aiming for the top and choose to take our Platinum Elite training, you’ll see a lot more of lovely Cathy. 

Michelle Kendal

Michelle’s warm and bubbly personality belies her very methodical teaching style. She trained with Nouveau Contour seven years ago and, since then, permanent cosmetics has become her absolute obsession, this is exactly the reason Karen asked her to join our training team.

When she is not in one of our academies sharing her passion with the next generation of permanent cosmetics artists, Michelle is running her own busy salon, performing permanent cosmetics treatments on a daily basis.

Jody Knight

Having joined us six years ago, Jody is our newest trainer. Jody teaches on our Bronze Foundation and Silver Experienced Level programmes and she is usually the first person you come into contact with as a new student at Nouveau Contour. 

Jody describes herself as “strict, but in a good way”... we would describe her as a patient perfectionist who loves nothing more than mentoring our new students and watching them grow in confidence.

As well as being an elite permanent cosmetics artist, Jody is also a Nouveau Lashes genius. Go to any UK beauty show and you will undoubtedly see her demonstrating her amazing lash creativity!
